Each year in late May/early June, the 4K for Cancer rides set out on 70-day journeys from Baltimore, MD, to four destination cities -- San Diego, San Francisco, Portland, and Seattle. Each ride fundraises-for and supports the Ulman Cancer Fund in Baltimore; every rider has to raise at least a dollar for every mile to ride and the teams continue to connect with communities along their routes.
On August 8th, Team Seattle reached Jose Rizal Park in Seattle, ending their incredible journey 70 days and over 4,400 miles after they set out from Baltimore. On their last day, the team rode from Bainbridge Island, and took a ferry in to the city's waterfront. They had come a long way from Baltimore and had seen and experienced the country as few people do.
I had the chance to help support the team (with Sophie Jin from my Portland 2012 team!) and photograph the riders into their arrival ceremony; here is a small photoset from the last day and arrival!
